When I was teaching myself the piano I used a simple bass for the left hand...but my left far finger (whatever it's called) was stuck on the 'D' note and that's how this tune came about. Contemporary - I am not a religious person, so how this song came about was when a acquaintance of mine who belonged to a church group asked me to write a little Chorus melody that they could use in their church group way back in1969. I decided to extend the tune after listening to Clapton's 'Presence of the Lord' from the Blind Faith album - and finally got to record it. She's A Weird City*

Jazz Rock - I wrote this back in 1980-81. I was reading 'Alice In Wonderland' to my daughters and after finishing a section I was walking back to somewhere. As I passed the TV there was a Woody Allen movie on and he spoke in French, and the sub-title read 'She's a weird city' - just what I was thinking about the book! Big thanks to Paul Redmond on drums. Note: I had a great version of this on my Tascam 244 4 track with Richard McEwen on guitar many a year ago - Never use a light pencil on a tape - it got deleted by error. An earlier version with Richard can be heard here.

Smooth Jazz: This is for my very good friend Kevin who passed away in December 2017. I used to record my tunes on my Dad's two track tape recorder and put a slice of paper between the heads after recording to get three tracks. Kevin introduced me to his Mac, Total music software and midi keyboards ("What sound do you want? Sax, strings, bass etc etc") back around 1986 or so and I just went ape. This tune is an update to a tune that I had composed back in the late 80's in Kevin's studio. Thank you Kevin wherever you are in this Cosmic chaos. Percussion and drums by Paul Redmond.

Ambient - Just using my old Mirage keyboard before it passed away - I just loved those 'string' sounds

Jazz Groove - I used to eat an apple turnover with cream 5 days a week for about 2 years and lived to write this tune about it ;) - Paul Redmond on drums, Lindsay Drummond on sax and Peter McDowell on guitar.

Jazz-Rock - Weather Report influenced - Should call it the 'Decade Song' as it took about 10 years to finish...You know how it is, bits and pieces then put it all together. Peter McDowell on guitar, Lindsay Drummond on sax and Paul Redmond on drums.

Contemporary: Don't know how to categorize this - in the 'classical' I guess - with lyrics, but this is the 'instrumental' version. One of my earliest tunes - either the third or fourth.

Grunge Rock - Inspired by the PIXIES band and their tune 'Where Is My Mind'. Big thanks to Tracey Trompf for the vocals and lyrics. Paul Redmond on drums and Peter McDowell guitar solos.

Contemporary: End of a gig tune and another two-chord wonder song. Peter came up with these wonderful lyrics and vocal melody in one take. Peter McDowell on Guitar and Vocals. Lindsay Drummond on Soprano Sax & Paul Redmond on drums.

Rock: Really weird song but I like it! A lot of influences here e.g. Zappa, Zappa, and Zappa. Vocals by Scott Phillips. Lyrics by me and Kevin Gibbs.

Contemporary: My three daughters just talking about their favorite things. At the time of this recording I was getting into the 'harmonics' of the bass. Warren Cox on guitar.

Jazz: The title says it all

Surf Music: Basically written for a surf movie many a year ago that did not happen. All good in the end with the help of Peter McDowell on guitar.

Contemporary: This song just kind of happened. Can't really explain it! Peter McDowell sings and plays guitar.

Contemporary: I was feeling very 'European' one night and started to zap down this tune. I think it would be good a for Pizza Take-away commercial - or maybe not. The intro is by Mr and Mrs Gibbs. I thank them for being so creative.

Jazz: Just another of one of those tunes that just happen, but isn't that the way it is? Some nice moments.

Ambient: Riding a Camel in the desert. My friend Kevin (who orders the pizza in 'Take-Away') had bought himself a Mac and Midi system setup back in the mid 80's. Asked me to come over with a tune (Just by chance I had this 'Camel Ride') and give it a go to see how it works....and I went ape. This basically was my introduction to home recording systems and what wonderful toys they are.

Ambient: Sort of tribute to Gershwin. Has 3 major parts. First Part has an Orchestral feel to it. Second Part is Piano / acoustic guitar feel and the final the orchestral part again.

Ambient: One of my favorites. Basically a tune about a nice day and a storm wants to come in and wreck it. Simple as that.

Ambient: Had this one theme and it just went from there.

Latin: Nice simple Latin rhythm with acoustic guitar and flute. Warren Cox on guitar.

Latin: Written for my wife who comes from Peru.
